Totesport’s staggering collection of Euro 2008 markets are enough to keep even the most fervent of punters researching the form for many a moon - not least the excellent Group Dual Forecast betting.
As we know 16 sides compete for Europe’s premier national football competition - split into four groups of four teams.
Group A containing classy Portugal and Czech Republic alongside Switzerland and Turkey looks ideal dual forecast material at 7/4.
Portugal head into the competition with one of the best recent pedigrees of any International side, having made the final of Euro 2004 and the semis of the 2006 Fifa World Cup.
It will be a big surprise if the side with the best player in the world - Cristiano Ronaldo and arguably the Premiership’s best defender - Ricardo Carvalho don’t top this section.
Second best team in the group by some distance is Czech Republic who of course famously came within a whisker of winning this competition in 1996 only to lose to an extra time Golden Goal against Germany.
The Czechs actually won the European Championships in 1976 as Czechoslovakia and although it is possibly asking too much to repeat that feat they should have enough quality to outwit the Swiss and Turkish in the group stages.
And let’s not forget they have the best keeper in the world by some distance - Petr Cech. Karel Bruckner´s side also finished top of their qualification group - ahead of Germany.
Hosts Switzerland are a poor side and have never gone past the first round in their two previous European Championship efforts. This is Turkey´s first finals since 2000 and they only just managed to scrape into the event ahead of Norway following a mediocre qualification campaign that included an embarrassing 2-2 draw with minnows Malta.
