Johnson tells England to do their talking on the pitch

England team manager Martin Johnson admits the time for talking is over as he unleashes his attack-minded XV on Wales in the Six Nations at Twickenham on Saturday evening.

Johnson named an exciting back line in midweek although he has since been forced to draft in Leicester’s Toby Flood after centre Riki Flutey suffered a thigh problem in training.

Danny Care and Jonny Wilkinson will form the half-back partnership with Flood partnering Mathew Tait who is making his first start since the 2007 World Cup final.

Out wide, Ugo Monye and Mark Cueto provide the pace with Delon Armitage at full-back – and 2003 World Cup-winning captain Johnson says it is time to deliver (England 10/11 -3 points).

“We have addressed the issues that we know we have had,” said Johnson. “We have been very honest about it as coaches and the players have been very honest about themselves as well.

“It has been good - but ultimately we need to turn that into a performance.

“It is important we understand what we are trying to do but within that we have good players and you have got to let them play with instinct.

“I am massively looking forward to it. This is a big season for us and a big year. We have put a lot of work into this game and we will get better game on game.”
