Betting on Special Events with totesport
It’s not all about sport at totesport, with a wide range of interesting and fun, specials markets often to be found throughout the year.
The penchant for reality TV all over the world has opened up plenty of new markets for totesport to explore, and one of the most popular programmes in the last couple of years has been ITV’s ‘X Factor’, the search for talent headlined by Simon Cowell.
Once the series reaches the stage where evictions start to occur, we have markets on who will leave the show each Saturday evening as well as updating the outright market regularly and having markets on the current categories the programme uses.
At the moment that means separate outright markets in Boys, Girls, Over 25s and Groups, and these will run all the way until they reach their conclusion, along with a market to predict the winning manager from Cowell, Louis Walsh, Sharon Osbourne and Dannii Minogue. In similar fashion, Saturday night’s BBC1 offering ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ also has extensive betting opportunities, with a market for each week’s eviction as well as an outright market, as a number of celebrities look to follow in the twinkling footsteps of cricketing duo Darren Gough and Mark Ramprakash as series champions.
As well as those markets, you can also bet on the gender of the winner, who will be the leading female and male dancer, as well as whether anyone will match Gough and Ramprakash (plus two others) in securing the Perfect 40 score from the four judges. Prices will also be available on the ‘daddy’ of the reality TV show, ‘Big Brother’, when it returns to the screen, as well as on the celebrity version, if it comes back for another series. The weekly evictions again will prove popular in totesport’s specials portfolio as they could when ITV return with their latest series of ‘I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here’.
We British worry about the weather a lot, and should you wish to make some money out of your worry take a look at our weather markets, mainly in use at Christmas time when you can have a bet on snow falling on the London weather centre.
There are also some interesting political markets ahead of what is anticipated to be a close General Election in 2008. You can currently bet on which party wins most seats, and expect there to be a lot more action as and when a date for the election is confirmed.
Whatever your strategy, have fun betting on specials and don’t forget to check out all our latest odds at www.totesport.com.
